17 December (102lbs) Jim Exall w pts 15 Frank Morcombe, International AC, Marylebone, London, England. Billed for the English 102lbs title and championship belt, it was Exall (100½) who did the better work in the earlier stages of the fight, driving in blows to head and body while Morcombe hit back as best he could. From the 11th onwards Morcombe came more and more into it as Exall tired, but although he won all the remaining sessions the fact that his rival, who was cut over the right eye in the 12th, remained on his feet saw the decision go against him.
