13 February (108lbs) Charlie Exall w pts 15 Tibby Watson, Ginnett’s Circus, Newcastle, England. Referee: Billy Bell. There was no title billing as such, but with both men inside 108lbs Exall’s claim at the weight would have been at stake. According to the Mirror of Life Exall fought hard and cleverly throughout, having a slight edge on Watson in virtually every round despite the latter continually sending in heavy blows. Dropped in the fifth, Exall was up quickly and back on the job almost immediately, his accurate and hurtful body punches being the difference between the two men at the final bell.
