1904-03-07 (106lbs) Dave Job w rsc 2 (15) James Freeman, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: J. H. Douglas. Although there was no billing as such, with both men inside 106lbs this fight was reckoned to involve the English championship at the weight. Right from the opening bell Job utilised his longer reach when hammering the hapless Freeman from pillar to post, and after the latter had been dropped at least half a dozen times in the second round the referee came to the Wimbledon man’s rescue.
