1904-03-09 (122lbs) Abe Attell w co 5 (20) Patsy Haley, Whittington Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA. Made at 122lbs, Attell (121) was far too good for Haley (122), who was outboxed and generally outclassed right from the opening bell. Unable to get copies of the local papers I cannot describe the finish, but will keep looking.

On 23 March at the same arena, Attell knocked out Maurice Rauch inside six rounds of a contest scheduled for ten. Yet again I was unable to find a comprehensive report of the fight, but as Rauch could make 122lbs with ease at the time there is every chance that this one also involved Attell’s title claim at the weight.
