1904-04-02 (140lbs) Jack Nelson w rsc 6 (15) Bobby Dobbs, Ginnett’s Circus, Newcastle, England. Made at 140lbs, Nelson made the better start, with lefts to the body, and by the fifth round was doing all the work as Dobbs continued to bide his time while looking to get his right home. Unfortunately, the fight never really got going and after Dobbs received a warning following a low blow in the fifth, he went low again in the sixth, leaving the referee no alternative other than to disqualify him.

With crowd extremely disappointed, the men agreed to meet on the following Monday over 20 rounds.
