1904-05-30 (116lbs) Joe Bowker w pts 20 Owen Moran, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: J. H. Douglas. Although billed for the English 116lbs title, with no weights issued the strong feeling was that it was contested at 116lbs, give or take two pounds. There was never much in it as first one man led then the other, rather like a game of cat and mouse, but it was Bowker who impressed the most, especially when avoiding blows while delivering his own. Moran was always a danger but could never pin his man down long enough to do any damage, and the clever Bowker was given the decision amidst rapturous applause.
