6 June (112lbs) Digger Stanley drew 20 Jimmy Walsh, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: E. J. Garland. Billed for the world 112lbs title with both men inside the weight, Walsh made the better start as Stanley either evaded punches or held on before taking the fight to his rival in the fifth. Honours seemed relatively even from thereon, with Walsh punching more correctly but unable to catch up with Stanley, who hit and ran. Although Walsh used his right to avantage in the 13th, Stanley was soon back to contest the points but seemed fortunate to get a share of the verdict.
