1904-06-21 (124lbs) Spike Robson w co 2 (20) Cockney Cohen, Ginnett’s Circus, Newcastle, England. Referee: Billy Bell. Despite a lack of billing, Robson extended his claim to the English 124lbs title following this quick win over one of the top men at the weight in England. The opening session saw both fighters trading on aggression and it was not long before Robson, who had been under fire himself, had Cohen on the boards from a right to the jaw. Back on his feet, Cohen tore into Robson and twice the latter dropped to his knees from exhaustion before the bell gave him a welcome respite. Almost immediately the second session had got underway, Robson was put down by a right swing to the head for a short count and once business was resumed it was clear that this was not going to be a distance fight. After both men had been down twice more, Robson found the punches to finish matters with ten seconds remaining, a right to the jaw followed by a right to the wind leaving Cohen to be counted out.
