1904-06-30 (106lbs) [[Jack Wise]] w pts 10 [[Frank Morcombe]], Alma Grounds, Canning Town, London, England. This was the final of a 106lbs world championship belt competition that saw just 20 of the 62 entries make the weight. Following a pretty tame start with plenty of clutching, both men warmed to the task in round six and the last few sessions saw first one and then the other go to the front. Although Morcombe’s decided reach advantage should have given him the edge it was Wise’s cleaner work that impressed the referee and the decision went in his favour.
