1904-11-12 (126lbs) Cockney Cohen w pts 15 Wally Morgan, Ginnett’s Circus, Newcastle, England. Referee: Billy Bell. While not billed for the English 126lbs title both boys treated it as though it was, and although Cohen had the reach over Morgan the latter’s excellent defensive work made it close. There was no doubting that Cohen had the punch but all too often he made openings that he failed to capitalise upon and there were no knockdowns. Regardless of any deficiencies Cohen claimed the English championship at the weight, but failed to build on it.
