1904-11-19 (114lbs) Digger Stanley w co 4 (20) Syd Wilmott, Ginnett’s Circus, Newcastle, England. Made at 114lbs for the Imperial British Empire championship, following a quiet start Wilmott attacked Stanley with both hands in the third round before being dropped by a solid left. Although the Australian was up quickly it could be seen that he was unable to handle Stanley and in the fourth, having missed with a tremendous left, the Englishman sent his rival down to be counted out after landing three heavy rights to the head.
