1904-12-09 (142lbs) Sam Langford drew 15 Jack Blackburn, Highland AC, Marlboro, Massachusetts, USA. Referee: Jack Sheehan. Made at 142lbs, with Langford claiming the title at the weight, neither man tipped the beam. The fight was reported in the Boston Post as being a desperate encounter with both men looking for a finishing blow and both out on their feet at the final bell, and in line with the Articles of Agreement it was declared a draw. The fight report went on to say that the referee had no trouble with either man, but try as they might there were no knockdowns.
