1905-01-06 (108lbs) Tibby Watson w rsc 7 (15) Jack Daly, Corn Exchange, Ashford, Kent, England
6 January (108lbs) Tibby Watson w rsc 7 (15) Jack Daly, Corn Exchange, Ashford, Kent, England. Referee: R. Joseph. Although given world title billing at 108lbs, in reality it had to be at catchweights with the heavier Daly later claiming that he was in excess of the advertised weight. Coming to the ring looking like a pocket Hercules, Watson quickly got down to business in the opening two rounds before dropping Daly four times in the third. Despite being groggy Daly came out for the fourth, guns blazing, and the next two sessions were contested at terrific speed, being eased when the latter got into further difficulties. The end came during the seventh round, the referee stopping it after Daly had been repeatedly put down.
