1905-01-30 (104lbs) Tibby Watson w co 13 (20) Con Cannon, Olympic Club, Sheffield, England. Referee: Joe Williams. In a contest given world title billing at 104lbs Cannon was the first to take up the offensive, and during the first half he had the upper hand with the Australian lagging behind. Getting his act together Watson gradually came to the front, and in the 13th a right-arm dig to the solar plexus caught Cannon unawares, dropping him for the full count.

Regardless of his victory, there was no real recognition forthcoming for Watson as the match was contested over two-minute rounds.
