1905-03-06 (128lbs) [[Young Joseph]] w pts 10 [[Dick Lee]], Wonderland, Mile End, London, England. Referee: Victor Mansell. The final of an English 128lbs championship competition and contested over three-minute rounds, the men set off at a fair pace, Lee showing up well with left jab and Joseph looking to get inside. At the end of the second round both went down together. Although Lee was on the floor in the third and fifth neither were real knockdowns and he was quickly back on his feet. Then, in the seventh, Joseph being the stronger of the two at this stage dropped Lee on his knees, and although the latter came back well in the eighth it was the extra strength of the Aldgate lad that saw him pick up the remaining points.
