1905-03-20 (140lbs) Harry Greenfield w rtd 7 (15) Morty Murphy, North London Baths, Islington, London, England. Referee: J. T. Hulls. Contested at 140lbs, Greenfield (139), who promoted the fight, was always going too well for Murphy (139) with left jabs paving the way for body shots. In the second round the crouching Murphy was cut over the right eye, and from then on through the seventh he was so badly punished that his corner retired him.

On the result, Greenfield claimed the English 140lbs title, being immediately challenged by Pat Daly. Although the offer was repeated on 6 May, Greenfield merely ignored it and remained inactive.
