1905-03-21 (140lbs) [[Jimmy Gardner]] w pts 15 [[Charley Seiger]], Lincoln AC, Chelsea, Massachusetts, USA. In yet another defence of his 140lbs ‘white’ title claim, Gardner won all the way against Seiger, landing his left jab where he pleased and using the latter as a punch bag without ever being able to knock him down. Although Seiger was badly hurt in the last round by a right to the jaw he managed to hold on until the final bell, having taken a terrible pounding throughout.
