1905-05-11 (126lbs) Johnny Summers w co 5 (10) Fred Delaney, Public Hall, Canning Town, London, England. Referee: J. T. Hulls. Billed for the English 126lbs title, with the winner to receive a silver championship belt, the opening four rounds saw Summers continually trying to finish the contest with a single punch, only to be thwarted by the clever Delaney who tied his man up and boxed him off. By the fifth, though, Delaney was breathing heavily. Wasting no further time Summers crossed his right to the jaw, and although the Woolwich man vainly tried to make it to his feet he was counted out.
