1905-05-22 (122lbs) Cockney Cohen w pts 15 Tommy Burns, Norfolk Road Drill Hall, Sheffield, England. Referee: J. T. Hulls. Billed for the English 122lbs title, the contest began at a fair pace with both men scoring well before Cohen, after some smart two-handed work, began to pull away by the fourth round. At the midway point, in order to conserve his energy, Cohen took a breather before coming back with sharp left leads and right crosses. All the while Burns remained busy, never letting up and always trying to be first, but the better boxing came from Cohen who continued to challenge all England at the weight throughout the rest of the year.
