1905-07-21 (133lbs) Jimmy Britt w pts 20 Kid Sullivan, Woodward’s Pavilion, San Francisco, California, USA. Referee: Jack Welch. Billed for the 133lbs world title, with both men inside the weight, Sullivan gave Britt a tough fight despite being outpointed in many of the rounds and would have done even better had he not injured his left hand in the tenth. Once again Britt showed his class, leaving Sullivan guessing at times, and scored the only knockdown when dropping the latter for ‘nine’ in the eighth with a left-right combination to the jaw. Sullivan proved to be much tougher than expected.
