20 October (115lbs) Jimmy Walsh w pts 15 Digger Stanley, Douglas AC, Pythian Rink, Chelsea, Massachusetts, USA. Referee: Eugene Buckley. Billed for the world 116lbs title, it was fast and exciting with Stanley showing up well early on. However, in the seventh and tenth rounds he was almost out and Walsh pushed on to a solid points win. Following the fight, Walsh claimed it to be the 115lbs version of the title he won in this one, but for the next 14 months he was up among the featherweights.
