1905-11-27 (110/112lbs) Jim Kenrick w pts 15 Jack Guyon, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: J. H. Douglas. Made at 110lbs, but thought to involve the 112lbs title also, it appeared that both mens’ title claims were at stake in this one. Very competitive, Kenrick (110) made the running with the taller Guyon (109) looking to jab and move. By the mid point Kenrick was concentrating on the body and in the ninth round he produced a heavy right to the jaw that dropped Guyon. Although Guyon got to his feet and kept going he was never again in the contest and Kenrick boxed his way to an easy win.
At the end of 1906, Kenrick pulled out of a fight against Johnny Hughes that would have settled the English title and would fight at lower weights from thereon, despite continuing to claim the 110 and 112lb championships.
