20 January (112lbs) Digger Stanley w pts 20 Ike Bradley, Christian Street Gymnastic Club, Liverpool, England. Referee: J. R. Smoult. Billed for the world 112lbs title, Stanley, who was much the taller man, used his reach advantage over Bradley in the opening half of the contest to build up a good points lead. Although behind on the cards, Bradley’s defence made sure that he was not badly damaged and from the 15th through to the final bell he charged into Stanley in an attempt to make up the leeway. However, it was not to be as Stanley, despite tiring, had enough left to hold out and while Bradley made up some of the ground he was ultimately unable to turn the fight round.
