1906-11-16 (122lbs) [[Abe Attell]] w pts 15 [[Billy DeCoursey]], National AC, San Diego, California, USA. Referee: Eddie Robinson. Billed for the American (world) 122lbs title with both men safely making the weight, Attell led from start to finish against the light-hitting DeCoursey, who was forced to cover up as he was hit by a never-ending barrage of jabs. Although outclassed, DeCoursey, his face raw and bleeding, showed tremendous pluck but should not have been in the same ring as Attell.
