13 December (112lbs) Digger Stanley w pts 20 Ike Bradley, Christian Street Gymnastic Club, Liverpool, England. Referee: Edward Humphreys. Billed for the English 112lbs title, with Stanley (109) putting his claim at the weight up for grabs against Bradley (112), it was he who made the better start when immediately taking the fight to his rival. Stanley, who was much the cleverer, scored rapidly during the first 12 rounds and although Bradley came back hard, especially in the last three sessions, he was unable to make up the deficit. This was the second meeting between the pair and while some papers reported this as being for the 114lbs title it was not.

Despite Stanley’s domination at the weight he would soon be moving on, leaving other men claiming the 112lbs title such as Young Bill Smith, Johnny Hughes and Jim Kenrick.
