8 March (115lbs) Jimmy Walsh w pts 10 Eddie Menney, Pacific AC, Naud Junction Pavilion, Los Angeles, California, USA. Made at 115lbs, Walsh’s title claim at the weight was never really at risk despite Menney, showing great defensive skills, making life difficult for him. Walsh was by far the harder puncher of the pair but was never able to finish Menney off even when the latter was hurt. The local man did much of the leading and at times threw good combinations and uppercuts, but they lacked steam to stop Walsh, who settled down to win comfortably.
