1907-04-22 (116lbs) Owen Moran w pts 20 Al Delmont, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Referee: J. H. Douglas. Billed for the world 116lbs title, prior to the tenth round the fight had almost belonged to Moran (115¾) as he bullied Delmont (114½) around the ring when sending in blows to head and body. At that point all Delmont seemed to offer was to hold at every opportunity. However, there were a few sessions when it looked like the American might make a fight of it, but by the 12th it seemed as though his fate was sealed. Although Delmont hit back on occasion Moran had far too much for him, and keeping out of trouble in the last round he cruised to victory.

Having won convincingly, it was reported in the Sporting Life on 30 October 1908 that Moran, who could no longer make 116lbs, was looking to challenge Abe Attell for the featherweight crown.
