1907-05-24 (122lbs) Abe Attell w pts 20 Kid Solomon, Naud Junction Pavilion, Los Angeles, California, USA. Referee: Charles Eyton. Billed for the American (world) title, Solomon was forced to make 122lbs 30 minutes before the fight got underway, and in another twist Attell refused to enter the ring until he had been paid. Following that drama it all became a bit of an anti-climax as Attell toyed with Solomon almost from the start, jabbing him at will, and severely punishing him and cutting him up as early as the first round. With Attell darting in and out with the jab and countering strongly, the game but inexperienced Solomons resorted to rushing-in tactics to no avail.
