1907-07-27 (100lbs) [[Tommy Brown]] w rtd 5 (15) [[Jim Forrester]], Lynn Street Circus, West Hartlepool, England. In a contest billed for the English 100lbs title, Brown was always on top, being far too strong for Forrester, and after a couple of rounds it appeared to be just a matter of time before he would catch up with the latter. At the beginning of the fifth Forrester was dropped heavily, and although he regained his feet he was done for. Smashed to the floor from blows to head and body, Forrester visited the canvas four more times during the session before his seconds sensibly threw the towel in.

1907-07-27 (100lbs) Tommy Brown w rtd 5 (15) Jim Forrester, Lynn Street Circus, West Hartlepool, England. In a contest billed for the English 100lbs title, with Brown always on top and far too strong for Forrester, after a couple of rounds it appeared to be just a matter of time before he would catch up with the latter. At the beginning of the fifth Forrester was dropped heavily, and although he regained his feet he was done for. Smashed to the floor from blows to head and body, Forrester visited the canvas four more times during the session before his seconds sensibly threw the towel in.

Brown’s 11th-round kayo win over Frank Exall at the same venue on 7 September was stated to be at catchweights, with no title billing given. The fact that Exall had been boxing between 106 and 112lbs during the past three years made it highly unlikely that Brown’s title claim was involved.
