1907-09-02 (150lbs) [[Stanley Ketchel]] w rtd 32 (45) [[Joe Thomas]], Mission Street Arena, Colma, San Francisco, California, USA. Referee: Billy Roche. With both men inside 150lbs, it was non-stop from the start and it came as no surprise when Ketchel eventually dropped Thomas heavily in the 16th. Thomas came back well to put Ketchel down in the 27th and from thereon either man could have won it before the latter ultimately prevailed. Twice in the 32nd round Thomas was on the floor and when a terrific right to the solar plexus had him over again his seconds threw in the towel.
