1907-09-12 (122lbs) Abe Attell w pts 10 Jimmy Walsh, Tomlinson Hall, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Referee: Jim Ryan. Making another defence of his 122lbs claim, Attell dropped Walsh (116) to his knees in the first round but was unable put the latter down again during the contest. Outweighed and ultimately outclassed, the bantam champion only had one good round, the fifth, in which he rocked Attell (122) with vicious rights before going back into defensive mode. He kept in the fight by clinching, for which he was almost disqualified, and only the gong saved him from a knockout in the tenth.
