1907-10-22 (106lbs) Albert Cocksedge w pts 15 Charlie Exall, Ginnett’s Circus, Newcastle, England. With Cocksedge and Exall each claiming the English 106lbs title, although this one was made at catchweights and contested over two-minute rounds it was thought that both men were inside that weight. From the opening bell Exall made all the running, but generally found Cocksedge a bit too clever for him. As well as making his man miss repeatedly, Cocksedge found time to smash in countering blows to both head and body before moving out of distance. Between the fifth and tenth sessions Exall had a fair amount of success when his rival dropped off the pace, but coming back well in the final third Cocksedge gained a popular points win.

Despite losing, Exall continued to claim the 106lbs title.
