2 November (100lbs) Tommy Brown w pts 15 Frank Morcombe, Lynn Street Circus, West Hartlepool, England. Referee: Harry Slough. Billed for the English 100lbs title Morcombe made the better start, taking full advantage of his extra reach, and for several rounds he scored well with both hands while Brown landed the occasional severe blow to the body. From the sixth onwards Brown began to make the running and although Morcombe’s movement made him a difficult target the local man was by far the stronger at that stage, finishing a good winner.
