1908-05-02 (150lbs) Willie Lewis w co 5 (20) Walter Stanton, The Circus, Paris, France. Referee: Tommy Burns. Billed for the world welterweight (150lbs) title, Lewis (148½) was soon on the attack, putting his fellow-American opponent down three times in the fourth round. The fifth session saw Lewis continuing to take the fight to Stanton, and after getting up from a further knockdown the latter was dropped again and counted out.
