1908-06-26 (116/118lbs) Jimmy Walsh w rtd 11 (15) Jimmy Carroll, Dreamland Rink, San Francisco, California, USA. Made at 116lbs, Walsh, who put his title claim at risk in this one, was so far superior to Carroll that it quickly became clear the latter had little chance of winning. Despite Carroll proving he could take a punch and was game to the core, Walsh merely bided his time before handing out a terrible shellacking in the tenth round, which was followed by the former's seconds wisely throwing the towel in during the 11th.
