1908-11-14 (133lbs) Dick Lee drew 10 Jack Ward, Welsh National AC, Merthyr Tydfil, Wales. Referee: Sergeant McNally. Made at 133lbs, the boxing was furious for the opening four rounds before it settled down to become a rather tame affair. However, it livened up somewhat in the last two sessions as Lee looked to settle matters, but found Ward rather too clever to be caught napping.
Although both men were claiming to be the 134lbs English champion, with no title billing and not over a championship distance the result decided nothing anyway, especially after the lightweight limit was set at 135lbs by the NSC on 11 February 1909.
