1908-11-26 (158lbs) Stanley Ketchel w co 11 (20) Billy Papke, Mission Street Arena, Colma, San Francisco, California, USA. Referee: Jack Welch. Made at 158lbs and billed for the title, Ketchel regained the championship when he battered Papke with savage body blows in virtually every round before putting him down twice in the 11th, the second occasion enforcing the full count following a storm of lefts and rights to head and body. It had been a tough, hard-hitting contest that saw both men fall out of the ring in the fifth, but Ketchel held sway throughout with his heavier punches landing regularly.
