1908-12-14 (145/148lbs) Willie Lewis drew 12 Harry Lewis, Edgewood AC, Grand Opera House, New Haven, Connecticut, USA. Referee: Dave Fitzgerald. Articled at catchweights but advertised as being for the American 145lbs title, it also involved the 148lbs class. For seven rounds it looked as though Willie Lewis would beat his namesake, having taken the steam from him, but just as he was getting on top he broke his right hand. The remaining sessions were much slower apart from the tenth when they mixed freely and the decision seemed about right.
