1908-12-21 (110lbs) Sam Kellar w pts 20 Ralph Marshall, Scottish National AC, Glasgow, Scotland. Billed for the English 110lbs title with both men on the limit, the fact that it was contested over two-minute rounds should have disqualified it from having any real credence. Regardless of that, it was a very fast fight with both men doing their utmost as they sought to find openings. There were no knockdowns, despite Marshall being a good puncher, and Kellar always seemed to be one step ahead with accurate leads that took him clear by the final bell.

From hereon Kellar campaigned in the new flyweight division.
