1909-02-01 (106lbs) Curley Osborne w pts 20 Joe Percival, Royal Engineers Drill Hall, Leeds, England
1 February (106lbs) Curly Osborne w pts 20 Joe Percival, Royal Engineers Drill Hall, Leeds, England. Referee: J. T. Hulls. Although made at catchweights, with both men inside 106lbs Osborne, who was already claiming the English 104lbs title, also laid claim to the English title at that weight on winning. Meeting for the second time both boys made a good start, with Osborne repeatedly slipping Percival’s blows and frequently reaching the latter’s face with straight lefts. There were many excellent exchanges between the pair and while Percival’s power could never be discounted it was Osborne’s cleaner work that won the day.
After 11 February, this weight class belonged to the new flyweight division.
