1 May (116lbs) Monte Attell w co 3 (20) Bobby Johnson, Nixon Opera House, Winnemucca, Nv, USA. Referee: Al Pape. Billed as a defence of Attell’s 116lbs title claim it was generally seen to be a ‘fake’, with sparring at long range for the opening five minutes being ended when Johnson was dropped by a low blow. With the referee ignoring Attell’s misdemeanour, the third round saw Johnson falling about like an actor before he stayed down to be counted out.
