1910-02-14 (116lbs) Harry Forbes nd-w co 8 (10) Joe Coster, Bedford AC, Brooklyn, NYC, New York, USA. Referee: James Shortell. Inactive since May 1907 apart from a recent warm-up contest, when Forbes took on Coster in a match made at 116lbs it was hardly a surprise that he took a while to get going. After losing the opening six rounds, and having been knocked down in the fifth, Forbes picked up the pace in the seventh before knocking Coster out with a terrific right cross in the eighth.

The next day Forbes, challenging all at 116lbs, reclaimed the title on the basis of Coster having won a press decision over Johnny Coulon the previous March. His claim really had little substance and after he was badly beaten at 122lbs by Abe Attell in his next contest, before spending some six months in Leavenworth for fight fixing, he had little or no support.
