1910-03-07 (118lbs) Joe Bowker w rtd 8 (20) Jean Audouy, NSC, Covent Garden, London, England. Billed for the European 118lbs bantamweight title, Bowker proved far too clever for the Frenchman, and having taken a couple of rounds to evaluate his man he began to open up in the third with solid left uppercuts. While Audouy had initially showed himself to be a neat and tidy boxer he had no answer to Bowker once the latter began to move in with both hands, and it came as no surprise when he was retired at the end of the eighth.

Bowker now had a legitimate claim to the world championship at the weight and his next contest would see him meet Digger Stanley in a fight that would decide the British, European and world titles.
