1911-03-31 (133lbs) Ad Wolgast w rtd 5 (20) Anton LaGrave, The Auditorium Rink, San Francisco, California, USA. Referee: Jack Welch. Knowing that LaGrave was walking about at 140lbs two weeks prior to their championship contest, Wolgast insisted on a ringside weigh-in. Wolgast (131) was obviously comfortable at the weight, while LaGrave, who barely made the required 133lbs, was in a weakened state. Knocked down twice in the second round and four times in the fourth, LaGrave was in a helpless state in the fifth when floored again, the towel being thrown in after two minutes of the session had elapsed.

In another no-decision six rounder, at the Madison AC, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Wolgast (131) knocked out One Round Hogan (132½) inside two rounds on 26 April.
