1911-09-21 (160lbs) Leo Houck nd-w pts 10 Frank Mantell, National AC, Manhattan, NYC, New York, USA. Made at 160lbs, with both men inside, the New York Times reported that Houck was defending his claim to the title in this one. But with 158lbs being thought of as the limit in America at the time it was the European version that was on the line. A hard contest from start to finish, with each taking turns to lead, Houck had the better of it in eight of the ten rounds, and although he had Mantell in bad shape from terrific right uppercuts to the jaw in the ninth he was unable to finish his man off.
