1911-10-19 Sid Smith w pts 20 Louis Ruddick, The Stadium, Liverpool, England. Billed for the British 112lbs title, the clever Smith was edging Ruddick by the sixth round as the latter began to spend too much time on the defensive. With hurtful body blows beginning to make an impact Ruddick was floored in the ninth, and although he continued in determined fashion from there on Smith moved steadily ahead to win by a wide margin.
