1912-02-22 (142lbs) Ray Bronson nd-w pts 10 Young Erne, Virginia Avenue Auditorium, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Billed for the 142lbs title, both men made the weight at the 3pm weigh-in and apart from the fifth and eighth, Bronson had matters very much his own way. The durable Erne, dropped just once in the fourth, proved to be a tough customer as he shipped many blows that would have seen others off and he was always looking to get his own punches in when he could. Although both men used their lefts to good advantage it was Bronson’s infighting ability that took him well clear.
