Line 1: Line 1:
1912-04-01 (142lbs) Ray Bronson w pts 15 Clarence English, The Auditorium, St Joseph, Missouri, USA. Taking the fight to Bronson with effective left and right swings, English started well but by the fifth round he was spitting blood from a cut mouth and was beginning to weaken from body shots. It was only when Bronson was cut on the left eye in one of the latter sessions that he really began to look for a stoppage win, but English held on. Following this win at 142lbs, Bronson put up forfeit, without takers, to fight anyone in America for the title at 142lbs or 145lbs ringside.
