1912-10-11 (145lbs) Wildcat Ferns nd-w co 2 (8) Art Magirl, Queen City AC, The Coliseum, St Louis, Missouri, USA. Although only carded for eight rounds, with both men inside 145lbs, and following his ten-round press draw against Ray Bronson, Ferns claimed the American title on the result. Having been put down for two counts of ‘nine’ in the second round, Magirl was then knocked out by a terrific right uppercut.
