1913-01-01 (158lbs) [[Jack Dillon]] nd-drew 10 [[Gus Christie]], Virginia Avenue Auditorium, Indianapolis, Indiana, USA. Referee: Tom Dillon. With both men inside 158lbs, this was another defence of Dillon’s title claim at the weight. Although the ''Indianapolis Star'' report of the contest had Dillon winning by four rounds to two and four even, when totted up the rest of the press had it down as a draw. This was their third meeting and Christie’s tactics of holding on did not go down well with either Dillon or the crowd. While Christie’s jab made Dillon look foolish early on, once the latter decided to rush his man and go from head to body the course of the fight changed, but the latter was unable to press home his advantage. There were no knockdowns.
